Lawn Maintenance & Planting

A lawn does not look cared for because of one good visit — it looks cared for because someone reliable keeps turning up. We run scheduled maintenance across Bergen County so your property reads as looked-after every week of the season, not just the week after we were there.

What that buys you is the small stuff nobody itemises: the cut height raised before a hot week, the thin patch by the driveway noticed in May instead of August, the trimmer kept off the bark of a young tree. None of it is dramatic on its own. All of it together is the difference between a lawn that gets mown and a lawn that is actually looked after.

Bergen County lawns are mostly cool-season grass, which means they do their real growing in spring and autumn and spend August trying to survive. The schedule follows that rather than the calendar: harder growth and more frequent cuts either side of summer, a higher cut and a lighter touch through the heat, and the heavy feeding and overseeding done in the window where the grass can actually use it. New Jersey also limits when fertiliser can be applied, and we work inside those rules rather than around them.

What the job includes

  • Mowing, edging and line trimming on a set schedule
  • Fertilisation timed to the season rather than the calendar
  • Seasonal planting, bed maintenance and pruning
  • Weed control in beds and along hard edges
  • Blow-down of walks and drives at the end of every visit

What makes the difference

Why it holds up here

Bergen County has its own rules — freeze-thaw winters, heavy canopy and a lot of slope once you get north of Route 208. This is what we do about them.

The same crew, every visit

You are not meeting new people every week. The crew that knows your gate code, your dog and the wet corner by the downspout is the crew that comes back.

Cut height moves with the season

Lower and more often in spring and autumn, higher through July and August so the roots keep some shade. Scalping a lawn in a Jersey summer is how you buy yourself a crabgrass problem.

Feeding inside the state rules

New Jersey regulates when and how lawn fertiliser can go down. We plan the feeding programme around that window instead of ignoring it.

One price, agreed up front

A written schedule and a written price before the first visit, so you know what is included and what is not.

How it works

Start to finish

01

Walk the property

We look at the size, the grass, the beds and the access, and agree what a visit should cover.

02

Agree a schedule

Weekly or biweekly through the growing season, with spring and fall clean-ups bundled in. Priced in writing up front.

03

We show up

The same crew, on the same rhythm. You should not have to call us to get us there.

Across the county

One county, three different jobs

Bergen County changes character every few miles. A property in the Ramapo foothills and one on a Ridgewood side street want the same crew and a different plan.

Thick green lawn freshly mown into clean stripes

Wyckoff, Midland Park, North Haledon, Waldwick

Open suburban lawns with real sun on them. These are the properties where a proper cut pattern shows, and where the difference between a mown lawn and a maintained one is visible from the street.

Pink azaleas and a mulched foundation bed running along the side of a suburban house

Ridgewood, Glen Rock, Ho-Ho-Kus, Allendale

Shaded village lots under mature oak and maple. Grass under that much canopy needs a different approach — a higher cut, shade-tolerant seed and honesty about the spots where turf is never going to be the right answer.

Manicured suburban backyard with flowering azaleas, clipped shrubs and a crisp green lawn

Oakland, Franklin Lakes, Mahwah, Ramsey

Larger foothill properties with slope, edges and bed lines that take real time to keep sharp. The trimming and edging is usually as much of the visit as the mowing.

Common questions

Before you call

Do you offer contracts or one-off visits?
Both, though most customers move to a weekly or biweekly schedule through the season — it works out cheaper than booking visits one at a time.
Do you do commercial properties?
Yes. We maintain commercial and institutional grounds as well as homes, and we can provide a certificate of insurance before starting.
What happens if it rains on my day?
We pick it up as soon as the ground allows. You will not be charged for a visit that did not happen.
How often do you come?
Weekly through the growing season on most properties, with the interval opening up in the heat of summer and again late in the autumn. We set the schedule with you before we start.
Do you overseed and feed, or only mow?
Both, and the timing matters more than the product. Overseeding and the heavier feeding are done when cool-season grass can actually use them, not whenever a truck happens to be passing.
