Spring & Fall Clean Ups
These are the two visits a year that decide whether a property bounces back or spends a season playing catch-up. Fall clears the weight off the lawn before winter sets on it; spring opens everything back up so growth has somewhere to go.
Autumn is the one that matters most and the one that gets put off the longest. The point of it is not tidiness. It is getting the weight off the grass before winter settles on top of it — a mat of wet leaves pressed flat for three months holds moisture against the crown, and you do not find out what that cost you until April.
Bergen County earns its autumn clean-up. The mature oak and maple canopy across the older towns drops a genuinely heavy layer, and it does not all come down at once — which is why a single pass in late October usually is not enough. Leaves left matted on a lawn over a wet winter hold moisture against the crown and you find the damage in April. We schedule around the drop and the thaw rather than around a fixed date, because in this county the weather decides.
What the job includes
- Leaf clearance from lawns, beds and hard surfaces
- Storm debris and fallen limbs removed
- Cutbacks, pruning and bed prep for the season ahead
- Edging and a final tidy of walks and drives
- Everything hauled away — nothing bagged and left behind

Why it holds up here
Bergen County has its own rules — freeze-thaw winters, heavy canopy and a lot of slope once you get north of Route 208. This is what we do about them.
Cleared before it mats down
Wet leaves pressed flat over winter smother the crown of the grass. Getting the weight off before the first hard freeze is most of the value of the visit.
Timed to the season, not the calendar
We book around the leaf drop in autumn and the thaw in spring. A date set in August is a guess; the weather here rarely honours it.
Beds cut back and prepped
Perennials cut back, beds cleared and edges re-cut so spring starts from a clean line rather than from last year's mess.
Everything leaves with us
Debris is loaded and hauled. Nothing gets stacked behind the shed for you to deal with later.

One county, three different jobs
Bergen County changes character every few miles. A property in the Ramapo foothills and one on a Ridgewood side street want the same crew and a different plan.
Ridgewood, Glen Rock, Ho-Ho-Kus, Allendale
The heaviest leaf load in the county sits under these streets. Mature canopy over tight lots means more volume, less room to work, and usually more than one pass through the autumn.
Wyckoff, Midland Park, North Haledon, Waldwick
Open lawns where the leaves blow as much as they fall. Timing matters here — clear too early and you do it twice, clear too late and the lawn pays for it.
Oakland, Franklin Lakes, Mahwah, Ramsey
Wooded foothill properties backing onto tree line. These are the jobs with real volume, and the ones where the clean-up is as much about the beds and the drive as the lawn.
Real jobs, real properties
Every project photo below is a Super Green job on a real property — no borrowed portfolios.
